On Friday, OpenAI added new features to its artificial intelligence (AI) model GPT-4 Turbo, primarily in the domains of writing, logic, and mathematics. The paid subscribers of ChatGPT Plus, Team, Enterprise, and the API are currently receiving the updated version of GPT-4 Turbo. Along with an upgraded data library, the new AI model now boasts a knowledge cut-off date of April 2024. Notably, the upgrade was released by the AI company only a few days after it revealed its new GPT-4 Turbo with Vision model in the API.
The official OpenAI X (formerly known as Twitter) account made the announcement in a message that read, “Our new GPT-4 Turbo is now available to paid ChatGPT users.” Our proficiency in arithmetic, writing, logical reasoning, and coding has increased. Users will see a noticeable enhancement in its conversational language, among other areas. According to the business, answers written using ChatGPT will be less verbose and more direct.
With GPT-4 Turbo Available for Paid ChatGPT
When we compared ChatGPT to Google’s Gemini, we found this to be a drawback. The latter, in our opinion, felt more conversational and allowed for the more organic creation of content like emails, messages, and letters. On the other hand, ChatGPT’s responses (which we tested on the publicly accessible GPT-3.5) were quite formal and boring. It seems that the most recent update has resolved this.
Better arithmetic, reasoning, and coding capabilities will be provided by the new model, according to OpenAI, although it did not provide any examples. Benchmark results released by the company indicate a notable improvement in the GPQA (Graduate-Level Google-Proof Q&A) and MATH benchmarks. The coding and natural language processing benchmarks, HumanEval and MMLU (Massive Multitask Language Understanding), could not demonstrate any significant gains.
The new GPT-4 Turbo model will also come with an upgraded knowledge base for users. While the earlier Turbo model was only updated until April 2023, the business has extended the data cut-off date to April 9, 2024. Presently, ChatGPT’s paid subscribers are all receiving the upgraded AI model.
